Since its inception, our company has believed that high-quality results begin with high-quality personnel. From management to field personnel, Carocon staffs the most skilled, knowledgeable people in the business. Several of our project managers and administrators have 25 years of tenure with Carocon and all employees have an average of more than 10 years’ experience with the company. All Carocon project managers are Licensed General Contractors and our field supervisors have extensive experience and have worked on multiple Carocon projects. John Huson has over 50 years of experience in residential construction and related fields. Prior to founding Carocon in 1972, he held executive-level positions as both a Construction Manager and a Developer for several construction and development organizations.
Mr. Huson holds a Bachelor of Civil Engineering Degree from the University of Louisville; is a Registered Professional Engineer in Missouri, North Carolina and South Carolina; a Licensed General Contractor in North Carolina and South Carolina and holds Real Estate Broker’s Licenses in North and South Carolina. John is also a LEED Certified AP. He is the 2015 recipient of the GCAA Lex Marsh Award.
Scott Allen has over 26 years of experience in the construction industry. As President and CEO, he is responsible for the overall day-to-day activities of the corporation. Fostering decades long relationships with our clients and professional service providers and working with the Board of Directors to develop and implement the vision, mission, and strategic goals for the company.
Since joining Carocon in 1996, Scott has held numerous positions within the company beginning with entry level field positions, advancing to project management, senior level management to his current role as President and CEO.
Mr. Allen is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and a licensed General Contractor in the State of North Carolina. Scott is a shareholder and a member of the Board of Directors. Scott is a full member of the Urban Land Institute and the Greater Charlotte Apartment Association.
Glen Craig has over 40 years of experience in residential and commercial construction. In his current role Glen is responsible for overall construction operations. This includes corporate safety and warranty programs, training and development of field personnel, development of safety systems with patents pending and conducting sound transmission research for industry use. He has also served on numerous boards and committees at Mecklenburg County Building Department as an Industry Advisor.
Since joining Carocon in 1986 Glen has held numerous positions within the company beginning with entry level field positions, advancing to project management, senior level management to his former role as COO.
Mr. Craig is a graduate of the University of South Carolina and is a Licensed General Contractor in North Carolina and South Carolina. Glen is a shareholder and Chairmen of the Board of Directors
Amy McKelvey joined Carocon in 1985 and has over 37 years of construction experience. In her current role as the Company’s CFO, she is responsible for the financial control and management of the company. She is an active member of the Charlotte chapter of the Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA), currently serving as Strategic Planning Chair and is a former member of CFMA’s National Executive Committee. She was awarded CFO of the Year by the Charlotte Business Journal in 2015.
Since joining Carocon in 1985 Amy has held numerous positions within the company beginning with entry level administrative positions, to senior level management and to her current role as CFO.
Mrs. McKelvey holds an Associate’s Degree in Business from Montreat College. Amy is a shareholder and member of the Board of Directors.
Sheila Neal has over 36 years of project administration experience. Her primary role is to supervise subcontractor conformance as well as contract administration and reporting. Since joining Carocon in 1986, Sheila has held numerous positions within the company beginning as receptionist, advancing to project administrator, Vice President of Administration, senior level management to her current role as CAO.
Mrs. Neal graduated from Gaston College in 1995 with an Associate’s Degree in Administrative Office Technology. She also graduated in 2010 from Garner-Webb University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and in 2013 was awarded her Master of Business Administration. She received a Masters Plus Certificate in December, 2018. She is a Notary Public, member of the Board of Directors, and a shareholder in the Company.
Wes Martin has over 40 years experience in residential construction supervision. As Vice President, he is responsible for managing construction projects from concept to completion. Prior to joining Carocon, he was the Construction Manager for Associates Construction Company, a builder of single-family homes in Rock Hill, South Carolina.
Since joining Carocon in 1981, he has been responsible for building over 58 projects involving over 6,000 units.
Mr. Martin is a graduate of Winthrop University with a Business degree, and also attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Wes is a Licensed General Contractor in North Carolina and South Carolina and a shareholder in the Company.
David Wheeler has over 39 years of experience in the construction industry. Since joining Carocon in 1996, David has had increasingly responsible roles from Assistant Superintendent, Superintendent, Project Superintendent to Project Manager and now as COO. His projects have included condominiums, duplexes, parking deck projects and 300+ unit apartment projects.
He currently holds a General Contractors License in both North and South Carolina. David is a shareholder in the Company.
Scott Kavanaugh has over 35 years of experience in the construction industry. Since joining Carocon in 2015, Scott has had increasingly responsible roles from Superintendent to Project Manager. His projects have including Single Family, Condominiums and Multifamily Apartment projects.
Scott is also a shareholder of the company.
Amanda Hudson has over 20 years of experience in Construction since joining Carocon in 2002.
Amanda is currently responsible for managing the Warranty for all of the projects that Carocon completes and is also Carocon’s Safety Director, managing all the Safety and Health programs.
Mrs. Hudson graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder with a Bachelor’s degree in International Affairs. She also has her General Contractor’s License in the States of North and South Carolina, and is a Certified OSHA Trainer for 10- and 30-hour certifications and holds her C-MESH. Amanda is a shareholder of the Company.
Kim Schearer has over 25 years of experience in project administration. Since joining Carocon in 1996, she has acted as the Project Administrator for projects including apartments, condominiums, public housing and office buildings. She is responsible for the company’s Information Technology.
Mrs. Schearer graduated from The University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a BA in Marketing in 1995. She also has Associates Degrees in Business Administration and Business Education. She is currently involved with and on the Board of the local Charlotte CFMA chapter. Kim is a Notary Public and a shareholder in the Company.
Alisha Nunnelly joined Carocon in 2012, arriving to the team with over 5 years of experience in Property Management.
Mrs. Nunnelly graduated from Jacksonville State University with a Bachelor’s in Secondary Math Education. She then received her Master’s Degree in Economics from The University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She also holds a North Carolina Real Estate Broker’s License, has her General Contractor’s License in the State of North Carolina, and is a Notary Public. She is a Certified OSHA instructor for 10- and 30-hour certifications. Alisha is a shareholder in the Company.

Bailey Dunmire joined Carocon in 2019 and brings her office administration experience to the team. She has experience in operations management and accounting.
Mrs. Dunmire graduated from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a Bachelor’s of Art Degree. She has volunteered as a Girl Scout Leader for the past 7 years.
