Community Involvement

Entrenched in the Community

Although Carocon has completed projects outside of North and South Carolina, we consider the Carolinas our area of expertise and our home. Thus, our company is proud to support and improve local communities wherever possible. Over the past four decades, Carocon has supported:
In addition, several of our staff members contribute their personal time to organizations in their own communities.

Amy McKelvey

Amy participates annually in the Ultimate Hike for CureSearch for Children’s Cancer, a 28.3-mile hike in one day along The Foothills Trail, raising money and awareness for pediatric cancer research as well as serves on the Ultimate Hike Task Force Committee which is responsible for recruiting and promoting the hikes throughout the United States. She is also an active member of the Charlotte chapter of the Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA), serves as Strategic Planning Chair and is a member of CFMA’s National Executive Committee.

 

Ambrose Dittloff

Ambrose serves on the Board of Directors for the Charlotte Trolley and is also a member of the Urban Land Institute of Charlotte.

 

Wes Martin

Wes and his wife Phyllis have raised significant funds for the Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Society through the organization’s annual bike ride, MS walks and other MS Society-related events. For seven years, Wes has additionally served on the board of directors for Habitat for Humanity in York county, and worked as the group’s construction coordinator for five years.

 

John Huson

John serves on the Board of Directors for the McColl Center for Visual Art.

 

Scott Allen

Scott is a member of the Urban Land Institute of Charlotte.

 

Amanda Hudson

A volunteer for Carolinas Medical Center-Mercy emergency department and an EMT for Mecklenburg County, Amanda also donates her time to the Live Care department at Discovery Place.

 

Kim Schearer

Kim is also involved with and serves as a Board Member of the local Charlotte chapter of the Construction Financial Management Association.
